 As people involved in cultural production in 2022, what issues do these works raisefor you?

In the past, cultural production workshop was owned by private entrepreneurs and sometimes the state. And the whole process of cultural record and production were expensive and most normal people rarely had the choices to touch it. But in the era of communication, the digital media spaces are not just for simple communication; they can be recorded anytime and anywhere as a kind of evidence. Technically, there are many tools that have been invented to do the synchronous multimodal communication like—emails, text messages, voicemails, video call and some social platform like Facebook and Twitter. The recording is so cheap and it’d accessible for anyone whether amateurs or professionals in certain field to spread widely in public area. Based on the same topic, it’s easier to find those who have the same cultural interest with us. And gradually, more precious culture can be collected and be saved. But, I think the most important point is that it can preserve the history and at the same time, it also enlarge and strengthen the stereotyped expression of some subject. When some subject has been appeared with the same characteristics, the left expression will be lasted for a long period or rooted deeply.

Xiongyue Yu Journal Entry 6 - Amazing Grace

The film is more like an Aretha Franklin concert than a documentary. Although the picture is not very clear because of the age of the film, and many songs are treated differently from the original 1972 album because of the preservation of the audio, this does not affect the moving and uplifting effect it brings to the viewer, because it is still a legendary film about the greatest female singer, the goddess of people's hearts, and meets every gospel lover across time.    The film needs no introduction to open with music, and the first to appear was  Wholy  Holy , a pop-oriented gospel song, including a mix of pop music that Aretha brought into the concert, which was criticized by the music critics of the time, but none of the audience in attendance objected.
